Following is a brief description of our positions:

Triage Patient Coordinator

The Triage Patient Coordinator is a Certified Medical Assistant who efficiently and effectively handles inbound and outbound communications for the Primary Care Medical Practitioners at Village Health Partners. These calls involve a wide-range of clinical and administrative requests from patients and other stakeholders, including but not limited to appointment scheduling and visit preparation, medication refills and reconciliation, follow-up care coordination, and benefits/authorization verification.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Triage patient phone calls following documented protocols and procedures
  • Conducts complete medication reconciliation.
  • Identifies special needs and takes the proper steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled appropriately.
  • Follows all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with the patient or their authorized delegates.
  • Verifies and updates patient insurance and demographic information.
  • Schedules appointments and queries clinical information from the PM and EMR

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Certified Medical Assistant
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Works efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, call-center environment.
  • Fluent in Medical Terminology.
  • Works well with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment.
  • 1-3 years related experience, preferably in a Primary Health Care setting.
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Fluent in English
  • Problem-solver with analytical skills.
  • Empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns
  • Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems (Centricity Practice Solutions EMR preferred).

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Call center experience.
  • Spanish fluency is a plus

Certified Medical Assistant

Qualified candidates must be certified and have minimum 2 years of recent experience in a medical office as a Medical Assistant.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Obtain medical history & vital signs and record into EMR
  • Perform EKG’s, Injections
  • Triage patient phone calls
  • Answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments
  • Assist physician with procedures
  • Assist in general office duties and other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Excel under pressure with attention to detail
  • Basic Computer skills
  • Treat Patients and coworkers with respect
  • Fluent in English
  • Problem-solver with analytical skills.
  • Empathetic with patient’s needs and concerns

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience with EMR systems – GE Centricity preferred
  • Spanish fluency is a plus

Status: Full-Time

Front Office Representative

Qualified candidates should be experienced, outgoing, and reliable with previous EMR and CPT/ICD9 coding experience. Superior customer service skills, the ability to multi-task, and excellent computer skills are a must.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Greeting and directing patients and visitors
  • Acting as a liaison between patients and medical support staff
  • Answering telephones, scheduling patient appointments, receiving and posting payments
  • Checking in patients, verifying and updating necessary information in computerized patient charts
  • Checking out patients, collecting copays or deductibles and reviewing charges
  • Maintaining work area, lobby and patient flow

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with problem solving abilities
  • Experience with EMR systems – GE Centricity preferred
  • Healthcare related experience
  • Experience with CPT/ICD9 coding
