Testosterone is a male hormone primarily produced in the testicles that helps maintain vital functions including bone density, fat distribution, muscle strength and mass, red blood cell production, sex drive and sperm production. In healthy men, testosterone levels are between 300 ng/DL and 1,000 ng/DL. Low testosterone levels affect each individual differently. For some, change in mood or interests may occur, while others may not notice a significant change at all. A testosterone check, offered by the family doctors of Plano, TX and Village Health Partners, will evaluate testosterone levels and determine if patients will need additional tests or treatments.

"I've used VHP for a long time now, and have always been treated very well there. My previous doctor left, so I decided to try one of their new doctors that had transferred to Mckinney from another location, Dr. Yao. I was very impressed. Dr. Yao spent a lot of time with me, was very personable and intelligent, and asked all the right questions. More importantly, he listened well, and established a great doctor/patient relationship for future visits. When I left his office, I told him he was definitely my new doctor. Don't hesitate to give him a try."- S.H. / Google / Aug 30, 2019

"I will be forever grateful to Dr. Fullington as he found my husband's heart murmur during an annual exam. While many are mild, my husband's heart murmur ended up being life threatening. He had open heart surgery less than 4 months after Dr. Fullington first heart the heart murmur. Without Dr. Fullington telling my husband that he needed to have the heart murmur checked out by a cardiologist, my husband might not be around right now. The heart surgeon told my husband that he was at high risk of having a major cardiac event. Thank you, Dr. Fullington!"- M.H. / Google / Aug 29, 2019

About the Procedure
Low testosterone can cause physical changes to the body such as thinning muscles, hair loss, softer and smaller testicles, and larger breasts. Symptoms of low testosterone include changes in sexual function, sleep patterns, physical appearance and emotions. A blood test is the best way to find out if you are suffering from low testosterone, and can determine whether or not you are a good candidate for testosterone therapy. Testosterone therapy will help patients diagnosed with low testosterone to improve their bone density, enhance mood, and have a lower risk for diabetes. Upon having their blood drawn and tested, patients will be able to discuss with their physician which therapy options will be most beneficial to them.
Providing the Best Care
At our medical facility, we are committed to providing patients with the best care and treatment options available. By providing testosterone testing, we guarantee our male patients exceptional service regarding men’s health. We strive to ensure that everyone who enters our facility has everything they need to lead a healthy and rewarding lifestyle.
Plan Your Visit
Additional testing may be required in patients who had abnormal findings during their blood test. Should your physician request additional tests, the start of testosterone therapy may be delayed or hindered. Patients will have the opportunity to speak closely with their physician to discuss testing and treatment options, should it be necessary.
