Sarah Cook is a certified physician assistant who has worked in the medical industry since 2001. As a Plano native, she is thrilled to use her skills and experience to help her hometown community thrive. Sarah is passionate about women’s health and enjoys the opportunity to provide patients with comprehensive education about reproductive health in particular. With a background in psychiatry, she is also passionate about proper diagnosis and care for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, insomnia and other mental illnesses. She also strongly believes that counseling patients about lifestyle changes can help prevent or control chronic diseases. Her biggest piece of advice to patients is to listen to their bodies, and she believes sleep is the best medicine. Sarah attended Baylor University in Waco for her undergraduate studies in neuroscience and biology and earned a Master of Science in physician assistant studies from the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Sarah Cook (formally Mech) recently married. She enjoys daily walks with her dog, practicing yoga and trying new recipes for healthy meals, usually involving novel ingredients or combinations. Sarah also believes that the best way to learn about other cultures is through experiencing their food. She donates regularly to organizations that educate women about health issues and empower them financially to support their families.
