Dr. Ayyagari - Independence Medical Village

About Dr. Ayyagari

Village Health Partners’ first specialty physician, Dr. Aparna Ayyagari, is our newest certified endocrinologist. She believes that each of her patients deserves the extra time with her for a detailed discussion on their health. She likes to provide the best in personal care by creating a strong patient-physician relationship, and actively involves her patients in decision-making. Dr. Ayyagari is also a strong advocate for preventative medicine.

She specializes in treatment of thyroid nodules and cancer, thyroid ultrasound and ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy, thyroid hormone replacement therapy following thyroid cancer treatment, metabolic bone disease, testosterone replacement therapy in hypogonadism, disorders of parathyroid, adrenal and the pituitary gland, type 1 and type 2 diabetes and other hormonal disorders.

How Dr. Ayyagari practices whole-person wellness

Dr. Ayyagari and her husband live in Frisco, Texas, with their two daughters. She enjoys organic vegetable gardening, floral arranging, abstract painting, cooking for her family and traveling the world.

Education and certifications

Prior to joining Village Health Partners, Dr. Ayyagari has worked in the medical industry for 20 years. She attended medical school at Sri Venkateswara Medical College in India, received her Masters in Public Health from Western Kentucky University, and completed her residency in internal medicine at Mercy Catholic Medical Center through Drexel University. She received a gold medal in medical school for microbiology, pharmacology, preventative medicine and ENT.

Dr. Ayyagari carried out her fellowship in endocrinology at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. She is also certified with a Masters in Public Health, board certification in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism. Because of this, she is very passionate about offering her patients the latest advancements in diabetes and thyroid care. This includes intensive diabetes management, new technologies for insulin delivery and continuous glucose monitoring, and much more.

"As a practicing Physician for over 40 years I have had the worst experience trying to make an appointment for my patient this morning the lady who answered the phone was rude obnoxious and hung up instead of helping my patient. When one goes on your website to make an appointment with Dr. Ayyagari her name does not even come up and hence the patient was not able to make her appointment, thanks for the administration of that office I have requested my patient to see another Endocrinologist and she got the appointment for next week."
