About Dr. Okammor
For Dr. Chioma Okammor, being a pediatrician provides the opportunity to build relationships with children and their parents while helping them live healthier lives. Providing the highest quality health care possible is a top priority at Village Pediatrics, where Dr. Okammor’s extensive experience and positive attitude make her a perfect fit.
Dr. Okammor relates to her patient’s parents by understanding what it takes to balance work and child care as a parent of two young children herself. She considers it an honor and a privilege to help children meet their full potential, and help parents enjoy their parenting experience to the fullest. She is committed to keeping up with the latest medical knowledge in order to better advise her patients.
Dr. Okammor especially enjoys being able to be a part of the lives of so many children and families. Whether it’s a warm hug or a picture drawn for her by a patient, she treasures the moments she spends helping them in their time of illness and celebrating their accomplishments in times of wellness.
Prior to joining Village Health Partners, Dr. Okammor worked at a private group practice in Plano for over eight years. She received her M.D. from The University of Kansas and completed her Family Practice Residency at The University of Texas Southwestern/St. Paul. Her passion for pediatrics led her to return to The University of Texas to complete a Pediatric Residency as well.
Dr. Okammor is recognized as a board certified pediatrician by The American Board of Pediatrics and is also a part of the Texas Medical Association and Dallas County Medical Society. She spends her spare time cheering for her daughters at their various activities, as well as volunteering. Dr. Okammor and her husband are committed to raising their children to be good stewards of Christ and often help with Sunday School. She also enjoys cooking and learning new recipes, as well as discovering every Thai restaurant in town. Dr. Okammor was awarded the 2011 Compassionate Doctor Recognition from Vitals.com, and she was recognized as a Patients' Choice physician for 2012.
