Community Impact – Frisco RoughRiders

Our commitment to helping local communities thrive also extends to our friends in the sports world. Last month, the Frisco RoughRiders found themselves in a position where they needed reliable and quick access to COVID-19 testing for their staff and players. In the days leading up to their opening homestand, the RoughRiders not only wanted to make sure they were prepared to take home a win, but more importantly to ensure safety upon their team, staff, and all who enter the ballpark.

57 staff members and players from the RoughRiders were met by a team of five Village Health Partners employees at Dr. Pepper Ballpark, to be tested for COVID-19 and obtain same-day results via the rapid test. Not only were the Rough Riders able to gain fast results from their rapid COVID-19 test within a matter of hours, but they were also well-equipped to make the best decision for the health and safety of all Rough Riders team members, staff and fans.

We stood behind their decision to cancel the team’s homestand over Fourth of July weekend and were pleased to have been able to serve the Frisco RoughRiders team at such a critical time in the new season. We will be here cheering them on to knock it out of the park once it is safe for outdoor gatherings!
