Every day, there's more and more news releasing about the COVID-19 vaccine, but what does it all mean? How do you decipher the information that matters most for your safety? Well, rest assured you’re not alone in this. With August being National Immunization Awareness Month, we want you to know we’re here to help you gain a full understanding of how the COVID-19 vaccine works to protect you.

While many other people in your community may be fully vaccinated,  that doesn’t mean you’re in the safe zone if you remain unvaccinated. The Delta variant is almost twice as contagious as strains seen earlier in the pandemic. Additionally, the Delta variant spreads more rapidly and leads to more infections than previous COVID-19 variants. Currently, the Delta variant is tied to 83% of U.S. COVID-19 cases, yet only 49.9% of people in the U.S. are fully vaccinated. COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to skyrocket week after week and account for 5.8% of hospital bed space in the country. Therefore, it’s important to know that vaccination is still the best method of protection to avoid getting severely ill from any variant of COVID-19. Individuals who are unvaccinated are at a higher risk of contracting and spreading the virus to others.

In order to make the best decisions for your health, you need to have the right information from a source you can trust – that’s where we come in.
