Telehealth: Your questions answered

Featured Image

The novel coronavirus has temporarily changed much of our daily lives, including how we visit with our doctors. As part of our ongoing efforts to help contain the spread of COVID-19, we offer virtual telehealth visits with all Village Health Partners medical providers as an additional option to in-person office visits. You can virtually visit with our physicians, advanced practitioners, counselors and dietitians.

While this medical care may look a little different, we are still dedicated to providing you with the highest quality care, and we still want you to be able to visit with your physician, counselor or dietitian from the comfort and safety of your home.

Whether you’re new to telehealth or you’re a veteran of virtual visits, these common questions and answers can help you with your next visit.

What is a telehealth visit?

A telehealth visit with your physician works similarly to in-person visits. Your physician will review your medical history and symptoms and will provide you with a treatment plan, including prescribing medication if needed.

What types of appointments can I schedule as telehealth visits?

Cold and flu symptoms, allergies, sore throat, ear infection, urinary tract infection, rash, nausea, medication refills, follow-ups and more can be scheduled for these visits. You can also visit with a counselor or dietitian! Click here to schedule an appointment.

How can I schedule a telehealth visit?

Option 1: The quickest and most efficient option is to schedule your appointment using the online patient portal. A step-by-step guide can be found by clicking here!

Option 2: You are always welcome to send your provider a secure message through the portal. Your provider directly receives this message and can help you get on the schedule. A step-by-step guide can be found by clicking here.

Option 3: Send us a text! We're making your healthcare experience as easy as possible. Text the number for your location to schedule an appointment.

Will my insurance plan cover telehealth visits?

During the coronavirus pandemic, ALL insurance companies, including traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage, allow telehealth services.

If I don’t have insurance, how much will a telehealth visit cost?

Telehealth visits are the same cost as an in-office visit. If you do not have insurance, we offer a 30% discount off the total price! Click here to see pricing for our most common services.

How does a telehealth visit work?

Video visits take place through the patient portal or Healow application on your smart device. Watch a video detailing how to get started below.

What if I need an appointment and I want to see a doctor in-person?

All Village Health Partners locations are open and seeing new and established patients. We continue to encourage social distancing and require masks for all patients and team members.

Do you offer COVID-19 testing?

Yes, we do! We began testing for COVID-19 on March 20, 2020 and have tested over 300 patients since then.

**Please note that all testing is completed outdoors. All patients have received their doctor’s orders for testing via telehealth, and we are taking every precaution necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19.**
