Laura Carlson, FNP-C

About Laura

Laura sees patients at our brand-new West Plano Medical Village location. It’s less than a minute away from Legacy Medical Village, where she previously saw patients.

Laura Carlson is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), who has a passion to ensure that her patients are seen with the highest quality care possible. She stresses the importance of transparency between providers and patients so that all patient needs that arise, are fully addressed. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Laura was an RN for 8 years.

Laura’s three pieces of medical advice to her patients are to stay up to date on annual physical exams, take medicines as directed, and never be afraid to ask questions. Laura and her husband Jonathan live in Garland with their two children.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Angelo State University
Masters of Science in Nursing, University of Texas at Arlington

Laura works hand in hand with Dr. Lester and also works closely with team members at her care station.

"I have been to the independence location a few times for different reasons and all of the staff in the areas I have been to are exceptionally nice. Wait times were minimal. The place was very clean. Signs are posted to let you know where to go - labs and room numbers are clearly marked making it easy to navigate. There is an elevator and stairs as well. - Laura Billingsley FNP is absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend her!"
