The coronavirus has brought many uncertainties to our lives, but one thing you should be certain about is knowing what the COVID-19 testing process will look like for you.

Here are some common questions and answers about our COVID-19 tests.

 

Do you offer COVID-19 testing?

Yes! We offer two different COVID-19 nasal swabs to detect an active infection. One option is the anticipated rapid test, and the other option is a swab we send to a lab. We also offer antibody testing. Click here to learn more about antibody tests.

How much does it cost to get a COVID-19 tests?

Test are billed to your insurance. If you do not have insurance, your cost would be between $40 and $50 for the rapid test, and $70 for the test that is sent to the lab.

What are the requirements to get tested for COVID-19?

All patients requesting a COVID-19 test must first be seen by a Village Health Partners provider through a telehealth visit. You can request a telehealth visit with a specific provider here, or if you don’t have a preference, you can request an appointment here. It’s easy!

What can I expect on the day of my COVID-19 test?

You will drive up during your allocated appointment time. A medical assistant will verify your name and date of birth and will let you know where to park. Please stay in your car with the window rolled up until it is time to get your test. At the time of your test, you will be handed a swab and will be given instructions on how to self-administer the test.

Where do I go to get tested?

We currently have a drive-up testing site located at McKinney Medical Village in McKinney, TX.

Is there a waitlist for telehealth appointments or COVID-19 tests?

No! You can expect to be seen for a telehealth visit within 24 hours of your request. Your provider will schedule the COVID-19 test soon after that.

How long does it take to receive results?

Results are available within 24 hours for the rapid test, 2 days for the send-out test, and 2 days for the antibody test.

How will I receive my results?

Your results will be uploaded to the patient portal and Healow App. To access the patient portal, click here.

What happens if my results are positive?

If you test positive for an active COVID-19 infection, you will receive a customized care plan from a Village Health Partners provider. If you receive a positive result, we recommend that all household members get tested as well. Household members will need to follow the same requirements listed above.
