In response to the needs of our community and in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Village Health Partners opened one of the first drive-through testing sites in North Texas on March 15, 2020. The first two weeks of testing were limited to medical professionals, first responders, and high-risk patients. In this period, VHP tested over 400 patients, found 30 COVID-positive individuals and assisted them with a care plan to keep them healthy and out of the hospital.
Given our success and updated CDC guidelines, testing is no longer limited to medical professionals, first responders, and high-risk patients. We’ve opened up testing to the rest of our community! Beginning April 1, all patients that experience COVID-19 symptoms and have a referral from a Village Health Partners provider will have access to a coronavirus test.
How do you get a referral?

A physician will virtually visit with you. Your physician will go over your medical history, medications and triage and diagnose your symptoms. Your physician can then give you orders for a test if needed.
- A Village Health Partners employee will call you to set up an appointment for drive-through testing. If it is determined that you should receive a coronavirus test, a Village Health Partners employee will set up a date and time for you to arrive for your test. They will take down your name, date of birth and car color and type. You won’t need to bring anything with you to the appointment!
- Your results will be published to the patient portal. Results are typically received within 3 days. No news after three days is good news. If you test positive for COVID-19, you will receive a call from us and then a call from the health department with further instructions.
