Kristen Dirks

Kristen sees patients at our brand-new West Plano Medical Village location. It’s less than a minute away from Legacy Medical Village, where she previously saw patients.

Kristen Dirks, MSN, FNP-C is board certified as a family nurse practitioner through American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She has over 11 years combined of nursing and provider experience with a diverse background in post-surgical, cardiology, ICU, emergency medicine and interventional pain management.

Kristen has a dedication to evidence-based practice and a holistic approach to providing healthcare. She has a desire to ensure patients fully understand their condition and treatment plan.

In addition to her medical work locally, Kristen travels the world as a disaster response nurse following environmental, weather or manmade disasters. She has participated in relief work in areas such as Iraq, Bangladesh, Haiti and India over the past 10 years. She most recently worked in COVID treatment units in New York City and Navajo Nation.

How Kristen practices whole-person wellness

Kristen and her husband Stephen live in Richardson with their 2 children. She enjoys participating in any outdoor activity with her family as well as serving in her community.

During her graduate education, she received the Health Sciences Resident scholarship seven times, the Health Sciences Center Heart scholarship and Health Sciences Center President's scholarship.

Kristen works hand in hand with Dr. Gothard and also works closely with team members at her care station. This includes advanced practitioners Shelley Loomstein and Kristen Mahurin.
